Recently, we’ve noticed a wave of users transferring to Rocket Domains after their previous registrars, including some well-known names like 123 Reg, discontinued catch-all email forwarding. Now, these users are required to purchase a costly “mailbox” service (around £28 per year) just to receive emails sent to any address at their domain. Understandably, this added cost and change in service might feel frustrating.
At Rocket Domains, we believe in making domain management simple, efficient, and affordable. That’s why we’re inviting 123 Reg users to experience a different kind of domain name and hosting service—one that values customer needs and delivers superior tools for managing your online presence. Here’s why transferring to Rocket Domains might be the best choice for you:
What Makes Rocket Domains Different?
Tired of overpriced extras? Rocket Domains is different. We’re a family-owned British tech platform with a mission: to provide powerful, people-centric tools. Backed by a legacy in civil rights, we believe in private, secure and accessible technology. That’s why we include premium features, costing a fortune elsewhere, at no extra charge when you join the Rocketeer community by registering or transferring a domain:
1. Free Premium Catch-All Email Forwarding
Unlike 123 Reg’s recent change, Rocket Domains provides both standard and catch-all email forwarding at no extra charge. This means you can receive emails sent to any address at your domain without the added expense of a separate mailbox. Simple, effective, and free!
2. Free Premium Planetary DNS for Speed & Security
Many providers still rely on legacy DNS systems that can be slow and susceptible to attacks. Rocket Domains’ global Planetary DNS is designed to be fast, secure, and reliable, keeping your domain accessible and protected. And the best part? It’s completely free with every domain registration.
3. Free Web Forwarding
Effortlessly direct visitors to your preferred website.
4. Free Secure Parking Page
Present a professional face for your domain with a customizable landing page. It includes a free SSL certificate to secure your parking page, visitor counter, and professional domain brokerage service too.
5. Free Mailbox, Website, Web Hosting, SSL Certificate!
If you need a proper mailbox to send and receive email with your domain, we have got your back. Each domain registration or transfer on Rocket will give you a free mailbox with a massive 1GB of storage. What’s more you will get free web hosting for a basic HTML website. This free web hosting plan comes with: 250MB disk space for your website and 1 SSL certificate to keep it secure. These free packages are meant for beginners. If you’re lookig for a fully featured Email and web hosting experience with WordPress, opt for Rocket Email or the Planetary Cloud web hosting plans.
6. Free DNSSEC
Deploy DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions) for free. DNSSEC is a security protocol designed to protect the Domain Name System (DNS) from attacks, such as DNS spoofing or cache poisoning. DNSSEC ensures that users reach the correct website by verifying that the DNS responses they receive are authentic and haven’t been tampered with.
How to Transfer Your Domain to Rocket Domains in Just a Few Steps
Transferring .co.uk, .uk, .org.uk and .me.uk domains to Rocket is free. Transferring other domain names (.com, .xyz, .net etc.) requires a registration fee which is also kinda free as it will extend your domain’s registrstion/life by an additional year.
Ready to make the switch? We’ve streamlined the transfer process to make it as easy as possible:
- Unlock Your Domain – Go to your current domain registrar account and unlock your domain in your domain settings. Look for the “transfer to another registrar” option. If transferring a .co.uk, .uk, .org.uk, or .me.uk domain, enter the below Transfer Code:
NETIM-FR
For all other domains (.com, .xyz., .org, etc.), copy the Authorisation Code. - Initiate the Transfer on Rocket Domains – Head over to Rocket Domains Transfer, enter your domain name, and the Transfer or Authorisation Code.
- Complete Checkout – After selecting your domain, go through the quick checkout process.
- Approve the Transfer – For domains other than .uk, head over to your old domain provider, and look for the option to approve a domain transfer out.
Once the transfer to your Rocket is complete which, by the way, may take some time, you’ll be able to manage the domain in your Rocket Mission Control Dashboard, where you can easily set up email forwarders and take advantage of all other great features offered by Rocket Domains.
